Central Life Sciences Announces EPA Approval of Zenivex™ E20 For Control of Adult Mosquito Populations

Product’s active ingredient offers vector market a new and highly efficacious solution with rapid knockdown

Schaumburg, IL, Sept. 29, 2008 — Central Life Sciences, whose founders invented insect growth regulator technology more than 30 years ago, today announced that it has received Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration approval for Zenivex™ E20 to control adult mosquito populations.

The active ingredient in Zenivex™ E20, Etofenprox, is highly efficacious and is classified as a reduced risk molecule by the EPA. It has a very low toxicity profile for mammals and birds, and its dried residues are easy on bee populations. In addition, Zenivex™ E20 does not contain Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO), and the oil-based formulation can be used in both aerial and ground applications, neat and diluted.

“With this regulatory approval, Central Life Sciences looks forward to providing mosquito abatement districts and public health officials with a new and effective solution to reduce adult mosquito populations,” said John Neberz, Business Manager, Professional Products Division of Central Life Sciences.

He continued, “Zenivex™ E20 represents a new active ingredient for controlling mosquitoes in a variety of habitats, and while it has a similar mode of action as traditional pyrethroids, Etofenprox has a very favorable environmental and toxicological profile, leading to a reduced risk classification by the EPA.”

Zenivex™ E20 will be commercially available the first quarter, 2009, and will be distributed by ADAPCO nationwide.

Neberz said, “For many years, this market has been clamoring for an alternative solution for effective adult mosquito control, and extensive trials conducted by Central Life Sciences have shown Zenivex™ E20 is highly efficacious while at the same time environmentally sound. Our customers will be pleased to have a new choice in the marketplace.”
